Lau tez thi, thodi maddhham hui,
Ek tez hawa aayi
Aur ek aur deepak bujh gaya

Roshan hota parda jab bhi woh aata,
Uski muskurahat se diye jalte,
Uski hasi se hazaaron khush hote,
Aaj ek aur deepak bujh gaya

Adakaari pe fida thi duniya, 
Pehchaan thi uske lafz, uski awaaz
Bareek shareer aur amli soch thi uski,
Aaj phir ek deepak bujh gaya!
